Our Virtual Sessions utilize LessonSpace. LessonSpace is a virtual platform for tutoring and teaching. So far my students have loved it! There is an abundance of fantastic features! There is an interactive whiteboard that the tutor and student can use which allows you to draw, type, highlight and make shapes. Other noteable features are screen sharing, document editor, emojis, and reactions.
Sessions usually start out with a welcome page. They may contain a picture or question to talk about before diving into the work. It will also contain a schedule of what we will be doing that day. It may look something like this. Clearly, we can also add fireworks when we are excited about learning!

After a few minutes of checking in we will get right to work! We will usually start off with more foundational skills such as letter sounds, addition facts, or simple spelling patterns before we begin the new material. This allows our students to feel successful right away!
Next, new material will be introduced. The new material may be work from school such as spelling words, or materials that your tutor has planned specifically for you! We often practice through games such as Tic Tac Toe and Connect 4.

Throughout the session we take breaks as needed. Some popular break activities are Tic Tac Toe, drawing and coloring and show and tell! To wrap up our session we end with an activity that we know the student has mastered to echo their feelings of success from the beginning. We summarize all the work they have accomplished and get them excited for the next session! Happy Learning!
